The new EU Standard for wooden pellets comes in 2010
A new EU Standard will supply uniform information on the quality of wood pallets Europe-wide as of 2010. Owing to a one-of-a-kind double control by the seals of approval awarded by DINplus and DEKRA, Woodox Pellets already meet today the great demands on quality of the future A1 class. With it, customers obtain reliable information about the high quality of the pellets.
Woodox acclaims the European Standard by the name of EN 14961-2 that will be effective as of 2010. “The upcoming EU Standard means more transparency and security for the consumer. Hence it will have an enormous impact on the pellets industry. We already test our pellets according to the criteria of the EU Standard. They meet the strict specifications for 2010 already,” says Gerhard Kroker, CEO of Woodox Management GmbH. Beside the DINplus seal of approval, which is customary in the industry, the pellets of the pioneer Woodox are the only ones that are tested for their ash-fusion behavior by DEKRA – a quality criterion that has been incorporated in the new EN 14961-2.
The EU Standard specifies the three quality classes A1, A2 and B. Woodox produces solely pellets in the highest A1 quality, developed on the basis of the DINplus standard. These are suitable for the generation of heat in individual burners or facilities in small house or multi-family houses as well as in public and commercial buildings. In addition to the quality of (the?) product, Woodox is still offering a triple security of supply and delivery stability by dint of the allocation of production to three partner plants in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt.
The high level of security of supply is ensured once more by the fact that regional wood of three different kinds is processed. Wood shavings, wood derived from the thinning the forests and chips are the three sources of raw material that mean a definitive improvement of supply security for dealers and customers alike. No other brand on the German pellets market can offer the same extent of security.
